Drainage Improvement Project
The City of Sarasota Public Works Department awarded a contract for the Orange Avenue Storm Water Improvements Project to Spectrum Underground, Inc. (Spectrum). Spectrum will be replacing a storm pipe under Orange Avenue at 18th Street requiring the road to be closed. There will be no water shut downs related to this work.
During this same time period Seminole Gulf Line Railroad is performing crossing improvements where the railroad tracks cross 19th Street just west of Orange avenue. Local traffic should therefore, in general, use Central Avenue or Gillespie Avenue and thru traffic should use US 301 as alternates to Orange avenue for north/south travel in this area during the four weeks of road closure as shown in the maintenance of traffic plan below and attached.
If you have questions regarding this project, please contact Anthony Russo, Project Manager at the City of Sarasota Public Works Department at 365-2200, extension 6367, between the hours of 9:00am and 6:00pm weekdays or 955-4838 after hours, weekends, and holidays.
