It’s time to clean out the garage and gather up yard waste, tree trimmings and discarded household items. Sarasota County will hold its annual free community cleanup in the Newtown area from 8am – 3pm Saturday, August 11. The community cleanup is for residential customers only.
Dumpsters will be provided at three intersections:
• Newtown Estates Park and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Way.
• Chilk Avenue and 19th Street
• 23rd Street and Chester Avenue
At the intersection sites, residents can dispose of most household items, yard waste, tree trimmings and other garbage or refuse. Sarasota County employees will be available at each site to offer assistance.
During the Newtown cleanup, residents can bring hazardous materials such as electronics, televisions and computers to the Newtown Estates Recreation Center, 2800 Newtown Blvd., Sarasota.
